Announcements

Our beloved Shri Badal Bhattacharyya (71), the renowned Badminton Coach of West Bengal has passed away today morning at Desun Hospital. He was attacked with Multilple Myeloma which was detected when he got admitted for Prostate Operation. He left behind his Wife and Son Shri Sudip Bhatrtacharyya who is also a Badminton Player of the State having represented Bengal several times. His cremation was completed at Keoratala Mahasasan at 2 PM. Hundreds of Badminton Players, Friends, Relatives, Officials of West Bengal Badminton Association paid their respects to Shri Badal Bhattacharyya.

Shri Badal Bhattacharyya during his long Career, produced innumerable number of Badminton Players for Bengal. Few Players of Inhternational repute like Madhumita Bisht, Rituparna Das and Subhankar Dey were under his coaching from their initial career itself. He was Coach of Bengal Team many a times which brought medals for Bengal.

Shri Badal Bhattacharyya was closely associated with West Bengal Badminton Association and was a Member of the Sr Selection Committee.

With his demise we have lost a great Coach who will be rememberd by all the Badminton Fraternity for all times.
